Signatory of the Charter of Diversity for 10 years

May 12, 2018

In 2008, Kautex was one of the first organizations that signed the Diversity Charter. This year, we are celebrating our 10-year anniversary of promoting diversity and a prejudice free working environment in our company.

The initiative Diversity Charter was introduced in 2006 and is promoted by the German chancellor Angela Merkel. The charter “promotes the recognition, appreciation and integration of diversity into Germany’s business culture” (https://www.charta-der-vielfalt.de/en/diversity-charter/, 2018).

Organizations that have signed the charter value all employees regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, disability, age or identity. Today, more than 2,570 companies and public institutions are part of the Diversity Charter. Every year, the institution organizes the ‘Germany’s Diversity Day’ and the ‘DIVERSITY Conference’. Both events invite companies and interested parties to carry out actions with regard to diversity and to exchange and network among each other.

Next to the German Diversity Charter, there are 20 other charters established all over Europe. The initiative is coordinated by the European Commission. However, all charters are independent from each other and can focus on different areas depending on their region. The countries that initiate diversity charters are among others Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the Czech Republic.
