The story of Kautex Mallersdorf began in 1988 when the construction of the plant in Mallersdorf was completed and the plant was officially opened with a great ceremony. Soon, the first blow-molding system began operating in Bavaria and Kautex Mallersdorf started to supply automotive parts mainly to BMW in Dingolfing. At that time, 75 employees were working in Mallersdorf.
Since its foundation, the plant is constantly growing by extending and constructing new production halls, warehouses and logistics halls. For their great work, the Bavarians won the “Bavarian Quality Award” in 1996 as well as the “Best Factory Award” in 2005. This is how they became one of the largest and most important employers in the region. Today, the plant employs around 500 people.
On its anniversary day on 12 May 2018, the plant organized an “Open Day” for all employees including temporary workers, pensioners, external service providers such as cleaning staff, porter, CSC, canteen as well as politicians from the surrounding area. On top of that, also the public was invited to join. Two tours were offered that guided the visitors through plant 1 and plant 2. Almost every department had organized an individual stand where production measures, quality measures, new technologies, logistics and training were presented and explained. The celebration was rounded off with a company party at a nearby community center in the evening.
Special thanks to the employees from various departments in Mallersdorf who organized this great event since mid-2017.
After their 30-year anniversary, Kautex Mallersdorf is focusing on the future: the apprenticeship of young talents continues to be a significant topic. A new training center “Talentwerkstatt” has been opened in September 2017. "Training is an important topic at the Mallersdorf location - qualified young talents from our own ranks should continue to come in the future!" (Elmar Limmer, Director Operations KBK)
